Must-See Landmarks of Eugene

Willamette River

The Willamette River makes its start in the mountains east of Eugene and continues north through the valley that shares its name, all the way up to Portland where it joins the Columbia. Because Eugene surrounds the beginning of the river, the water is always clean and beautiful. Miles of city parks hug each riverbend so visitors can experience the river up close, surrounded by nature. Much of Eugene culture flows from the river; fishing, floating, kayaking and rafting are all enjoyed by locals during the warm, summer months. If plans ever take you on the water, always wear a lifejacket.

Autzen Stadium

Home of the Oregon Ducks, this stadium seats 54,000 spectators for UO football games, big-name concerts and large community events. Across the river and through Alton Baker Park, the walk to Autzen is brief, but filled with Eugene beauty. If attending an event here, clear bags to hold belongings are required if you want to bring anything with you. You can leave your umbrella at the hotel though, because as the locals say, “It never rains at Autzen Stadium”.
